Holly's technique challenge today was to make a Sliding Pop Up card. Well, I love learning new techniques, so I just had to give this a try. And when Kim tells you in her video to make sure your band is snug (but not too tight), make sure it is snug so that the popped-up card will stay open!!! I always seem to have to learn things the hard way. Sigh.
I also made this for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge to make a card that is flight related. Our cards are going to Sean this week, who is a 23 year old man fighting testicular cancer. You can read the full story in the Teapot Tuesday challenge forum under MMTPT132.
Da Mudder told us to "bring airplanes, bring kites, bring things in mid flight! Bring copters and gliders, and air force fighters. Bring an unidentified flying object, I really like your logic! Brings things in mid flight into our sight. Let's fill up the sky with things that go high, things that can fly, or perform a dangerous fly-by!"
I just got my new Punch Bunch stamp set and the owl punch, so I wanted to use him for my design today. Yes, Mudder owls do fly, although I know you think they just rest on tree limbs all de time saying "Who? Who? Who threw the blue shoe? Does anyone have a clue?" Or mebbe that's Bertie that says that.....hmmmm.....

I can almost hear your owl he looks so real. Like the clear night scene unlike the snow sky we are seeing here in Colorado. Impressive use of the sliding pop up card technique.

Aww, Bertie, what an ingenious card you pulled off in between flinging things. Your M&Ms probably fly more than this owl does - BUT he is in the night skies, soaring when we are all sound asleep!
Kudos to you for trying out this technique on your card today and giving us all fair warning about the snugness of our bands!! You are a good girl, Bertie!!
