This is my grandmother in school. She didnÂ’t go to school til she was 8 years old. She was born in 1907 and had 12 brothers and sisters. I guess thatÂ’s the way things were on the farm back then.

How to:
After choosing the background paper I cut out a piece of vellum.
It measures 6 x 6 inches. The photo measures 5 x 3.5 inches. I double matted it with coordinating papers.
Then the journaling was printed via computer (font Annie BTN). It measures 5 x 1 3/4th inches. I used a Paint Shop Pro brush and applied it on the sides of the dates 1915-1916. I matted it and added 4 brads to the corners.
Lastly, I added the embellishments at the bottom of the layout. The images of the flowers were made with a stamp. I took a flower stamp that had the 3 flowers on it. The stamp actually had 2 circles around the flowers but I didnÂ’t want that part so what I did was take a acid free black marker and colored in the sections of the stamp I wanted. Then, I took colored pencils to fill them in. I matted them to complete the layout.
