I wanted to create today, and I wanted to try something different. So I looked in a craft book for inspiration. I liked the sketch that Pricillastyles had on her page today found here: http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/
So I incorporated the two things together. Her sketch is very similar to a lot of the sketches I make, so I had to play.
I used mellow moss as my base. Then I stamped Pretty Petals in Old olive.
I had an old smoosh, squish, and spray piece from the last time I did my technique, I liked the colors, so I cut it, then mounted it on perfect plum.
The piece behind the flower is pink passion mounted on perfect plum with a vanilla ribbon on it.
Now, the flower! This took quite a bit of time. I used one of those drafting compasses, drew 5 circles with it. Then I cut them out. After I cut out the circles, I ripped them. Then I folded the rips towards the center. This is very time consuming, and for someone who has arm issues, very tiring to the arm.
After I was done ripping and folding the edges into the middle of all the pieces, I took my pink passion ink pad, and went along the edges of each circle.
When that was done, I grabbed a hole punch, punched a circle and added a brad. It was white. Since I used vanilla, it wasn't looking kosher, so I grabbed a sponge and sponged pink passion over the brad. A little got on the first flower, but I think it adds to the character of the flower.
