The inspiration challenge today was a super web site of fingernail designs. You know...the kind you have painted on at the nail parlors. The designs and colors are absolutely incredible. My apology for the obi tieing... Miniature plate depicts Mt. Fuji which I could see from my paddy house on a clear day.
Thanks Birgit... I chose the collection with reds and golds due to a memory triggered by a card by Karen B Barber in the January Fan Club gallery. If you are NOT a member of the Fan Club you are soooooo missing out on some awesome cards.

Anyhooooo............this is dedicated to the years we were stationed at Yokota AFB Japan. Serenity, beauty, design, peaceful.......all Oriental qualities.

I love the fabric you chose for your kimono. Since I am sure many of us wouldn't know how to tie an obi (I always just do whatever it shows in my Mizuhiki cord booklet), I don't think anybody could think this was less than perfect.
I loved seeing your china, too. I have a little porcelain vase that family friends who had been working in Singapore previously gave me for my 21st, and I just love the elegance of oriental ceramics. We always pay a visit to the Japanese Cultural Centre any time we are in Paris, and if only we had it we could spend a small fortune in the shop there!

I may be casing this idea at some point as that kimono stamp is one of my fav ever.......perfect choices in embossing folders....deep, rich in color.......I was lucky enough to spend a month in Japan years ago ....was a trip of a lifetime and has always kept Asian designs close to my heart
