This is my entry for the CC303-Old Navy Delight. The challenge was to use Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy, with neutral of choice. This is what I came up with.
Since so many wonderful people gave my children presents for Christmas, I decided to make a Thank You card for this weeks challenge.
I recently learned the Dahlia fold for making flowers, so I decided to use it. Also, I like butterflies.
The Dahila flower was made using double patterend paper in grey and white. Which is what I used for my neutral. The stem and leaf are from the SU Petal Pizzaz set, and was stamped in Old Olive. I colored in the stem, and sponged in the leaf.
The very bottom piece of cardstock is Old Olive. Then Daffodil Delight. The swirlies on the yellow are stamped in Night Of Navy, using a stamp fromt he SU Simple Friendship set.
The butterfly was stamped onto Daffodil Delight and then cut out and flipped over so the ink doesn't show. The stamp is from the SU Simple Friendship set. The swrily on it is the same as what is on the other yellow paper. I wrote over the Night of Navy ink with a Versamark pen, then embossed using clear powder to darken it up a bit and make it a little shiny. The same technique was used on the smaller flower, which is from the SU Punch Potpourri set.
The "Thank You" is from the SU Thank You Kindly set, and also stamped in Night of Navy.
The butterfly has only a small piece of tape on the bottom right, and I folded up the wings so it stands up a bit. I also gently folded up the petals on the smaller petal so that it pops up a bit as well.
