In the meadow we can build a snowman,
then pretend that he is Parson Brown.
He'll say 'Are You Married?' We'll say 'No man,
but you can do the job when you're in town!'
~ Richard B. Smith, Lyricist, 1934
Ah . . . Winter Wonderland . . . why are all the good Christmas songs from the 30's?
I found this amazing stamp at a local scrapbook store, but then had no idea what to do with it. It was a challenge. Thanks to the folks in the General Stamping forum for helping me out. I posted a tutorial, too, on how to ink up such a detailed stamp. More details are at http://cateredcrop.com, 12/16/10 post.
This is so pretty. Love it and I love the song. I think the great Christmas songs of the earlier days are so good because people saw the good in others. Life was precious. They had the depression to deal with so anything inspirational was good for the soul. I am 58. My parents are gone but they left me with great traditions. One of the records that was always played was Johnny Mathis Christmas album. My granddaughter wanted me to buy this for her when she was about 10. She is now 18. She came to spend the weekend with me two weeks ago so we could make Christmas cookies and guess what she had downloaded on her Ipod! So she is the third generation to love this Christmas music. Thanks for sharing your lovely card.

Oh.....precious! Your card is jaw-dropping gorgeous. Thank you so much for the "link to ink"! I needed that! Your stitching and that fabulous lil snowflake are so charming! Wonderful work of art!
