I've had fun playing along with Kimberly Crawford's 12 Trendy Days of Christmas this week. The 10th day was doilies.
As soon as I thought of doilies and Christmas, I had an immediate image come to my mind ... and I love when I'm able to translate that image into reality.
I started by dying small white doilies with Forest Green Glimmer MIst. I used my heat gun to help dry them, drying from the back to minimize the curling of the paper. I love the variation in the green and the lovely overall shimmer. Next I cut my doilies into fourths and started building my Christmas tree from the bottom using glue dots at the top of the triangle.
When I made it all the way to the top, I went back and tucked in a few more remaining triangles to fill in my tree. Next I added a woodgrain stamped trunk, champagne pearl garland and a gold punched star. The sentiment is a K&Company Rub-on.
Now I want to go make my doily tree in other fun holiday hues.
