This is another card I made for a couple of Flourishes Challenges: Winter White & Christmas Spirit
Ok, if you have seen my cards or know me at all, I am AFRAID of boldly coloring my images in. I have no idea why, it's only ink and paper! LOL! But after coloring my "Sweetpea Birthday" in without much blending, I felt a little bit more confident in my coloring
I think the only mistake I had with this card, was using Black ink. I was going to use Sepia (my standby favorite) since I had a whole Black & White cad theme idea in my head but..... AFTER I colored it all in, I found out that I Don't have Any Black & White paper!!! What?!? I thought I did!! So, that's why it's a pretty strong looking image - LOL
*Note to self: Check paper stash before assuming you have something - LOL! *
I used Flourishes "Winter Bouquet" stamp set and used my Tombows with hardly any blending to keep the colors bold and strong. The embossed background is a Cuttlebug folder (I'm sorry I don't know the name). The diecut lace bottom edge is a Spellbinders "Classic Lace Border". I pulled some of my velvet rick-rack ribbon out and topped that off with some Prima Pearls to complete the look.
I am ashamed to admit that I have had this stamp for 6 months and have tried and tried to color it in successfully, but this is the first time that I have been able to do so. I think it just needs bold colors because I tried watercoloring it in, but for me, it just doesn't look right.
I know Amaryllis flowers aren't so purpley looing, and normally I like to keep it all realistic looking, but I love how it looks - artistic liberties and such - LOL

Gee, Amanda, I think every tiny detail of this is perfect! Your coloring is stunning and I'll just bet there is a purpley amaryllis somewhere. If not, there certainly should be! Beautiful!

This is gorgeous the way it is! The black does look too bold to me. I have a tendancy not to use bold colors as well and sometimes I'm a little disappointed with the final results.
