This card incorporates the 'Queen for the day' and 'Free 4 All' challenges. The F4A challenge was to use silhouette stamps or silhouettes in general# This week's QFTD is Irishgreensue. Her card I chose to CASE is here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...;ppuser=113778
The Asian lady was stamped with Expresso and sponged with Bundled Sage, Old Olive and Real Red. The second layer of the mat was sponged with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain, then stamped with Basic Black using Sanded bg stamp.
The little round adornment at the corner was originally stitched on to a scarf. There were a bunch of them, of various sizes. I cut them off my scarf to use on cards. Has anyone else ever detached accessories from clothes to use for crafts? ; )

It is amazing how you changed the look of your background DP using the Sanded stamp and inks. I have that DP and you really 'altered' the look into something very ancient looking as well as asian. Love how the sage green color is carried over in your ribbon and the sponged edges of the silhouette. This is a very striking card - one I will be casing for sure!
Thank you for your kinds word and inspiration. I am so very honored you brought this striking card to the gallery. Thanks so much for sharing it with us! And no, I have never taken anything but the extra buttons they usually enclose in a little bag in case you lose one!!

Yikes, is this ever one wonderful surprise to see you in the QFTD challenge! OMGosh, I'm so shocked, but in a happy way, to see you join us today. This is so great, Becky! Your card is fabulous; I love asian, and I'm totally lovin' what you've done with Sue's card. It's just exquisite and adding something from your clothing is pretty exceptional too.
No, I havent done that yet but I think it's probably waiting to happen. It's just great to see you and this incredible card in the QFTD and F4A challenge~

This is absolutely a beautiful card. It's colors and technique just wow me.
I like that you used elements for your embellishments that were from your clothing. I have taken baubles from things going in the trash to use as embellishments. Does it count that I buy jewelry from the target dollar spot to use for embellishments? Thanks for joining us in the QFTD challenge, I hope you keep coming back.

What a lovely card! When I retired, I cleaned out 2 walk-in closets and got them down to 1 and took everything to Goodwill and Catholic Charities, but I do remember some great buttons on some of those items - too late now. But for future reference, what a great idea to detach little items!
