Over at the Unity forum, the Unity Addicts #25 challenge is to make an "Un-card" - basically it's to make something other than a card. Maybe an ornament for Christmas or a pretty gift box. Or you may have something in the house you can alter like a tin or box, recycling at it's best! You can find the deets here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
So I thought it was the PERFECT excuse to make a Christmas Gift Bag which is just the right size for a little present such as a Gift Card Voucher, something small for your child's teacher or just some lollies. You can find the box-making instructions here at the Stamping Videos blog: http://www.stampingvideos.com/2008/1...halloween.html
I decided to emboss my cs - just because I LOVE my CB - before I scored the lines with my Scor-Pal, then used a hole punch to punch the holes for the ribbon, THEN folded the bag up and glued it. It's much easier to punch the holes before you fold the bag up.
The image was stamped with Heliotrope (purple) pigment ink and heat-embossed with clear ep, then diecut with my Deckled Rectangle Nesties. I diecut some snowflakes from white cs and ran my ink pad around them so they would stand out a little better, then popped them up on mounts (dimensionals) and added Kaiser purple rhinestones to the centres.
Lastly, I tied on the ribbon. I was surprised how easy it was to make the box esp. for someone like me who isn't very good with instructions!
The finished size of the box is 4-3/4" high x 3" wide.
