Over at the Unity forum, the Unity Addicts #25 challenge is to make an "Un-card" - basically it's to make something other than a card. Maybe an ornament for Christmas or a pretty gift box. Or you may have something in the house you can alter like a tin or box, recycling at it's best! You can find the deets here: Unity Addicts #25 {11-3-10} by riaann at Splitcoaststampers
So I thought it was the PERFECT excuse to make a Christmas Gift Bag which is just the right size for a little present such as a Gift Card Voucher, something small for your child's teacher or just some lollies. You can find the box-making instructions here at the Stamping Videos blog: http://www.stampingvideos.com/2008/1...halloween.html
I decided to emboss my cs - just because I LOVE my CB - before I scored the lines with my Scor-Pal, then used one of my Labels Trio dies to diecut the top part where the handle is, THEN folded the box up and glued it. Don't fold the box up then diecut the top part it as it is much harder that way and most likely will end up crooked (trust me: I know from experience!!).
The image was stamped with gold pigment ink and heat-embossed with gold ep, then diecut with my Deckled Rectangle Nesties. I diecut some snowflakes from gold cardstock and popped them up on mounts (dimensionals).
Lastly, I tied on two different ribbons. I was surprised how easy it was to make the box esp. for someone like me who isn't very good with instructions! My DH saw the bag sitting on the kitchen bench and thought I had bought it (isn't he sweet?!!). I made a purple Christmas one too which I will upload shortly.
The finished size of the box is 4-3/4" high x 3" wide.
