I'm so excited! I won the entire Heartfelt Creations Winter Wonderland release this month and it came today! Better yet, it arrived just as baby was going down for his nap. I didn't have to wait to open it or play! Life is good.
You can't see all the details on the background paper unfortunately. I ran my white craft ink down my Bashful Blue paper to give it a soft, frosted look. I then used my new Snowflake Medley background stamp to create a soft snowy look. It turned out better than I'd hoped. I'd seen the technique on Stamp TV to create faux wood and faux jeans but it works great for snowflakes as well.
I stamped the snowman and coloured his hat with copics. I then paper pieced his scarf, the holly leaves and the cardinal and popped the cardinal up a second time for some depth. The holly berries, nose and mouth are all done with stickles. Unfortunately, I accidently smeared the mouth and it seemed so wasteful to redo the whole thing. Snowmen shouldn't be perfect anyways.
I ended up stamping the sentiment upside down and had to redo the background paper but that's okay. Other than the mouth, I love how it turned out. Can't wait to try some more of these stamps. They are so cute!
