Whew - I was hoping to get to the IC today, but with trying to catch up on the HYCCT challenges after a couple of busy weeks, I wasn't sure I'd get the time. Especially when my first gesso-ed background smudged and I had to start all over again.
I chose this lovely piece of work by Marisa Haedike, which gives me another card for the Christmas card challenge too. (Haven't got too many done this month because of all the cards going to the MD Anderson centre).
A2 base. Sentiment from Merry Crittermas.
I took a piece of chipboard, covered it with two layers of gesso to get the painted look that is in the original, stamped and embossed the WhipperSnapper image and then sponged the background with Tumbled Glass and Broken China. Coloured the penguin with H20s. Tore the edges and added a bit of Liquid Pearls (White Opal) round them.
I see the sentiment looks crooked. It's not - I ruled a line with pencil and used the SAMJ, so it's something to do with the angle I took the photo at.

Just the cutest image. I love it. I've never tried your b/g technique. It looks so much like the inspiration b/g. I might have to look into buying this stamp as I have a friend who just loves polar bears.
