Today is the Chestnut Theme Challenge (GC73 if you upload to a gallery) at the Gingersnap Creations Blog ... and this months theme is Goth ... and today's Challenge is Gothic Elements.
We're challenging you to create something dark perhaps supernatural with an atmosphere of mystery, darkness, oppressiveness, fear, or doom. Basically, if you take a normal scene, put it in a dark and gloomy palette, and then add something rather disturbingly amiss, you will have a great gothic scene. With Halloween around the corner, this may get you right in the mood! It definitely got us into the spirit!
And in the spirit of Halloween, the deadline for linking up your card for this Chestnut Theme Challenge is October 31st.
I decided to go with a Goth Valentine for my card ... my husband's response was ... that's really creepy, but I love it ... exactly what I was going for.
I stamped Heads from Stampotique in India Ink on a scrap of purple spider web paper. I stamped it a second time on scraps of white cardstock and cut out two of the heads from the design and paper pieced them into my original stamped image.
I punched two hearts from a piece of K&Company Que Sera Sera paper and then used the same paper to frame my image. I finished with a sentiment from Inkadinkado's Romance Expressions accented with some black adhesive gems.
I hope you'll "get your goth on" and join me in my first challenge as a Ginger Gem ... have fun with it.
