This week for the Speedy's Friends challenge #20, Joanne Travis gave the challenge to do FALL COLORS. That is just perfect as I love to work with those rich colors.
From the first time I used this sunflower from Mark's Finest Papers (Mother's Day card, I believe), I've been in love with it. It is so easy to color and cut out. My coloring today is a bit different to show that the flower is on its last showing of pretty oranges and yellows and is fading fast. I've added some microbeads to the center. Would someone tell me why I keep using them....so messy. I have a 'love, hate' relationship going on here. I guess I love them more than I hate the mess. LOL

I'm also entering my card into the Paper Pretties challenge found here: http://www.paperprettiesblog.blogspot.com/ Their challenge is to use pearls, rhinestones, or glitter dots. I am using some gold pearls.

Great card Benzi - love that sunflower image. And I can tell you the flowers are fading fast around here! Love your description of your 'love/hate' relationship with the microbeads. Too funny! Beautiful card in spite of your frustrations!

I'm with you Benzi, I love those little gold beads, but they do end up everywhere, don't they? You did an incredibly beautiful job on your card. The flower is a STUNNER and loving that leaf border punch!! Send one of those over right now, ya hear? LOL!! TFS!

GORGEOUS, Benzi!! That sunflower is stunning. I LOVE the microbeads in the center AND how you colored it to show that it's fading now. Genius

Benzi how incredibly beautiful this is! I really love the shading on your Sunflower-that is very clever and attractive. The rich fall colors are dramatic and add so much character to this awesome creation!

Your color scheme is neat; I like that unexpected mauve in there. And those beads do look so wonderful in the center of the flower....even if there are still some in your carpet as a result.

I have been in love with that flower since you first used it on Mother's Day too - I love how you shaded it with some pink to blend it in with the papers and colors you used - genius! Pretty, pretty card!
