So I'm sitting in my scraproom last night at about 5 pm, talking to my husband, when he suddenly remembered that he needed a card for a co-worker who just bought a house. So I came up with this card for him and his family, to congratulate them
I did have a bit of trouble trying not to make something too girly looking. But I think it turned out all right. I had forgotten that I owned this stamp until I was searching around in my scraproom, for something that would be appropriate. After I found it, it all came together pretty quickly.
I heat embossed the image, after stamping it in Mementos "Rich Cocoa". Then I used my Tombows to color in a few spots. I'm glad I did, or with out it, it would look too flat and borning, for me. The paper scrollwork is some of the Nesties fancy labels/plates, with pearls added for some elegance ( I hope ). I used my favorite MFT Open Scallop Die on the bottom, because I like it I do wonder if the cream scallop at the bottom of the image is too bright, but I do like it there, so I'll leave it alone.
All in all, I love the rich colors and the way everything turned out, so if I ever need a "New House" type of card, I'll use this "recipe"
