This is for our monthly DDIC challenge & it was a pic of a rustic dresser. I had every intention of incorporating some of the wood tones and textures into my card, but I'm sure y'all know about how things sometimes take on a life of their own. I'm also including it in the DD "Fabulous Faux" since I made a faux tile background and used faux pearls. I've done a lot of faux treatments on walls, furniture, frames and fireplaces, so I borrowed some of the techniques for this bg. (I'm working on a tutorial, so it will be forthcoming soon.)
I did manage to use the blue and gray tones and my background is similar to the blocky drawers of the chest. For the background, I used the large Brocade Background image and blue chalk ink on my faux tile. I used the same ink to stamp the bucket and pump image and a darker, denim ink to overstamp the greeting and the brocade frame. Everything is layered with a dark charcoal card stock and attached to a 5.5 x 4.25 white card. I added some punched strips and faux silver pearls.
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.
