Embossed Wedding Cake
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: cshoover

I was so inspired by all the great wedding cards I've seen here, I had to make a wedding cake card myself. I based mine on this card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...wedding%20cake

The base is a shimmer paper. I layered a black linen paper with a piece of vellum stamped with Versamark Dazzle (Frost). You can't really see the Baroque Motifs swirl in this photo, but it is there. The pearl trim was from my scrap pile. I actually had it left over from making my wedding veil 10 years ago!

Here is how I made the "cake": My 3 rectangles are 1.25" high - 1 at 3" wide, 1 @ 2.5" wide, and 1 @ 2" wide. I rounded the top 2 edges with my corner rounder and tucked the edges of the top layers just under the top edge of the lower layers. All are popped up with foam tape since the velvet ribbon on the bottom was a little thick once it was wrapped over the sides.

I have to make a wedding card for a wedding tomorrow. Thanks for the measurements, and for sharing. Gorgeous!
