ETA - got a better picture outdoors but stitched it to the indoor one which shows the crackle better. And I've got the same crackle effect twice again, so I think it must be an effect of using the UTEE on top of the regular EP.
Lots of lovely inspiration to be found in ModCloth today. As I did not-my-style shabby card last week, this week I chose this Deer Watch to be inspired by, and get another Christmas card under my belt.
Best of about twenty photos, I'll try outside when the rain stops, but that silver is never going to be easy.
5 3/4" black Bazzill Bling base.
The matt silver square was stamped with Vintage Vogue in silver and embossed with silver EP. I edged it with black Stickles, and added a metallic silver bow in one corner.
The image panel was made as follows.
Cut the largest Blossoms 2 from chipboard and embossed twice with Encore Silver and silver EP. Instead of going the regular faux metal route with just more silver, I then switched to Versamark and a layer of UTEE. This gave a lovely crackle effect to the silver, a lucky accident. While it was warm I pressed Dasher in, and then when cool rubbed over the debossing with luster rub-ons. Added black Stickles round the edges and silver half-pearls on each point, plus a tiny black gem for Dahser's eye. I tried adding a tag with a greeting, but it just didn't look right.
TFL.
