Okay, so let me just sum up my life's camping experience:
Leeches in a lake in Maine.
Mosquitos the size of Blackhawk helicopters
A bullfrog that was basically the size of me
A raccoon that snuck in when I was sleeping and stole my stuffed toy lobster I was sleeping with
Bathrooms that were less than glamorous!
So I made a scary card for people like me that like hotels!

I like your reasoning. I have a few specific requirements for "good" camping. Flush toilets and showers! Oregon State Parks have some of the best campgrounds I've been in. Possibly going near John Day soon. The Clyde Holliday cg has my requirements. Oh yeah, trees are nice too! And no big wild animals, our tent was attacked by a bull moose last year at Gros Ventre. But the lodge we went to was fabulous!

I'm not a camper either!! I'm scared of what's in the bushes - human/ animal or otherwise!!! You are very wise, Lydia!! I see you've used that scary new set from SU -and that rather elegant new punch - which is on my next order!
Ohmygosh this CRACKED me UP!! I'm one of those people who actually makes *friends* with the local wildlife, but I can certainly understand! I have a girlfriend that has a teeeeeny phobia of bats and birds, especially when they get into the house!
