Well, I don't know how friendly seagulls really are - I can never think of a super-duper clever card title! I made this card for my BIL who had his birthday late last week and now that he has it, I can post it here and on my Blog.
I stamped the image onto 140lb Watercolour paper and watercoloured it with JoSonya Acrylic paints. The teal blue frame was popped up on 1mm mounts (dimensionals) over the image then I added the brads so it kind-of-looks like a porthole.
The sentiment was diecut with one my Spellbinders Tags Trio dies - I lightly inked around the sentiment with Creamy Brown chalk ink - then popped it up on 1mm mounts. The brads are by Printblocks.
I am popping this card into the Splitcoaststampers "Way to use it" Challenge WT281 of 'Wonderful Woodgrain'. See this link for the deets: WT281 - Wonderful Woodgrain (07/29/10) by ravengirl at Splitcoaststampers The Challenge gave me the perfect excuse to use my Distressed Stripes embossing folder (which I have hardly used but HAD to have LOL!) as my Faux Woodgrain for the brown cardstock base and seemed to be the obvious choice to match the wooden pole on my image. I lightly sanded the cardstock to highlight the embossing.
I am also entering this card into the Simon Says Challenge of "There ain't no cure for the Summertime blues" where your summery creation has to have some blue in it - I have used one of my fav colours: Teal Blue. And of course, what could be more summery than a seagull! See my Blog for all the Challenge details.

Great masculine birthday card indeed!
Friendly seagulls? I did "meet" one on the California coast that was willing to pose for a few close-ups before tiring of us humans and flying off! ha

Besides thinking this is the best masculine card I've ever seen, I'm really loving your write-up about it because "the devil is in the details" and you provide EVERY detail. That's soooooooooooo generous of you. And the port hole is just plain genius creativity. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.
