This week the Etsy Inspired Challenge is celebrating its 100th challenge with lots of giveaways. Each Design Team member has a prize to give away to one lucky winner who comments on their blog that include items from Unity Stamp Co, Lawn Fawn, May Arts, Charleston Scrapbooking, Soft Pencil Designs, & Limelight Papercrafts. There is also a prize of 100 items, as well as a fabulous pendant of your choice from the Etsy Inspired Store Cathy Walters for two lucky challenge participants.
My card was inspired by Cathy's wonderful Joyride Pendant. I loved the combination of text with the vintage bicycle image.
I started by tearing the joyride definition page out of an old dictionary I keep in my stash for crafting. Instead of using the actual page this time, I scanned the page in and cropped the section I wanted. Next, I copied the section several times to have a large enough area for my card, and then printed it on a piece of Basic Grey Scarlett Letter paper.
I used my Tim Holtz Ornamental Die Cut to cut out my dictionary page, positioning it so that you can see the "joy" definitions both above and below my main image.
I stamped the image and sentiment from CHF's Bicycle Life on the same piece of Scarlett Letter designer paper. I finished with some ribbon made from recycled pieces of an Indian Sari (which works for the ribbons challenge at the Lots to Do blog). Love how there's a tiny bit of red in my background paper & the Sari ribbon. This is one of those cards that just made me smile when I was finished ... I just love it.
