While I am a week late, I created this for last week's color challenge CC281 (Daffodil Delight, Concord Crush, and Pear Pizzazz). I didn't have any of those colors, so I used the closest I had.
I tried a new technique - batik. I found the tutorial over on Crafter's Digital Art Center. You can see their tutorial here:
I used the negatives after cutting out nesties label 4. The background behind the silhouette is the batik technique and direct to paper inking. I used SU's almost navy, summer sun and old olive. After inking my paper, I versamarked the entire paper, sprinkled gold embossing powder, combed off some excess (before heat embossing), and then heat embossed. I stamped the silhouette on overhead transparency with Stazon Jet Black, and layed it down over the batik background, added a bow, butterflies using MS butterfly punch - and the rest is history.
It really was easy, and I think this is a technique I will use in the future. Thanks so much for stopping by and looking.
