DH has a friend who collects owls. She's currently going through chemo, so he's sending her cards a little more often than usual; this one is for her.
Today's challenge was wood grain. The Fiskars texture plate is one of my more-used ones, so I had another go at faux wood - this is so much better than last time I tried it, so thanks for the shove, Toni
5" square Bazzill base. Stitched square of BG Kioshi. Faux wood frame as per tutorial in resources, only I used the Fiskars plate instead of an embossing folder, and as I didn't have tiny brads I just pierced holes. I also curved the inner edges slightly with an embossing tool.
Images are Stampendous Birch Buddies, stamped on Bristol board and coloured with H2Os. I added some punched leaves and a button to tie in with the owl's eyes.
Now I just have to think what to make with the centre of the frame!

What a fantastic card to send DH's friend. LOVE your sky! Your frame is too cool and the stitching & button are a perfect touch! A smile bringer for sure!
