A box. Designed for holding treats, for being decoration on a wedding reception table, whatever. I was aiming for elegant and tailored. I think I got that.
The image is a claddagh--often used in wedding rings in Ireland. Here's the meaning: "The Claddagh's distinctive design features two hands clasping a heart, and usually surmounted by a crown. The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown). The expression which was associated with these symbols in the giving of the ring was: "With my two hands I give you my heart, and crown it with my loyalty." or "You hold my heart in your hands, and I crown it with my love."

Love your box. Need to show it to my dh as he comes from Irish ancestry.
You got the 'elegant and tailored' really well.

Very cool - love that image - and love it even more after you explained it. The old countries have such wonderful symbolism - makes things special. This is very elegant - everything about it screams elegant.
