Joan, what a wonderful new technique to try, pounded flowers. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do this because I don't have time working full time and being full time mom to raise flowers, so I was wondering how I was going to get flowers. I wasn't going to go buy some just to smash them. Then I looked outside a little closer and saw these wildflowers, ok, weeds with flowers and decided to give it a try. At first I was a little dissapointed that the blues turned brown when smashed, but after looking at it awhile, it grew on my. I stamped my Layers of Color- Joyful noise butterfly in blue and watercolored it to go with the watercolor look of the smooshed flowers. I added a pearl trail and copper embellishment. The striped dp was added for the Stamping Sisters in Christ challenge to use stripes in our project. The stripes are to remind us about Isaiah 53:5 (KJV) "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon Him; And with His stripes we are healed."

Your wildflower smooshed dp turned out gorgeous, Marilynn!!!! In fact, it really does looks like dp!!! The butterfly is beautiful, too, and the significance of the stripes is sooo inspiring!!!

Wow! These wildflowers are sooooooo pretty! Also, a gorgeous butterfly and lovely trail of pearls behind it. The stripes remind me of a song we sing in our choir. Splendid card!

I like the way you've shown us the wildflowers before smooshing them. Brown or not, they've made a lovely background.
My first attempt had my yellow wildflowers not only going an unappetising colour but also smelling totally rank. I need to go and put it in the compost NOW!!! Glad you didn't have that problem with yours .
