have made this survival kit for my dd's teacher this year. I got the idea for what to put inside the kit from Candace Mitchell's blog at www.cestmoicm.blogspot.com
The list reads:
Animal cookies for when your classroom seems like a zoo.
Band-Aids for when things get a little rough.
Chewing Gum to help you stick to it.
Crayons to colour your day bright and cheerful.
Candle for when you are up late marking or planning
Smarties because thatÂ’s who your teaching
Time Out bar because youÂ’ll probably need it by the end of the day
Eraser to remind you everyone makes mistakes.
Lifesavers for when you've had one of those days.
Marbles to replace the ones you've lost.
Paperclips to hold it all together.
Pencil to "write your wrongs."
Rubber band to remind you to be flexible.
Shiny Penny to remind you that each will shine in his or her own special way.
Starburst to give you a "burst" of energy when you need it.
Tissues to wipe away the tears...yours and theirs.
Toothpicks to help you "pick" out the good qualities in others and yourself,
and a prayer for you to say at the start of each day.
the poem reads...
Please help me,
to strengthen their voices,
bodies and minds,
to express their feelings and
control them sometimes,
to explore what's near
and venture afar,
but most important to love
who they are.

Way cute! Where did you get the paper and stickers? Brand name? Also, did you realize you missed the 2nd 'v' in survival? Whoops! I have done that too.....

oh my gosh! thanks for the heads up! I have shown this to quite a few people and no one has noticed the missing "V" good thing I haven't given the gift yet! I'll fix it right away!

the papers are old...they were from my stash but the brand is Scribble Scrabble....letter stickers are old too...I think the typewriter ones actually came from the dollar store.
