The technique challenge this week is to create a one layer card.
IÂ’ve done this layout style once before with trees and thought it would be fun to try it with wildflowers this time.
-First step is to tear a piece of paper that is larger than the card into three pieces leaving the center as the largest piece. (If you need a visual I put a photo of this step on my blog linked below)
-Open the card and secure the back to a piece of paper with repositional tape so it doesnÂ’t slide around during the sponging process; I use blue painters tape.
-Close the card and position the center piece of paper over the center of the card; this will act as a guide for your next step.
-Sponge on the red; I didnÂ’t sponge right up to the paper completely across so the orange tones will show on both sides of the black line.
-Remove the paper and fill in the area with the orange tones, lightest first, darker only across the center.
-Put that paper back in place and position the two outside pieces to form a line across the card that is approximately 1/8” wide. (The blog photo shows exactly what I’m talking about). Sponge on the black.
-Remove the two top pieces of paper, move the bottom piece up about half way over the black line and stamp the images across the card.
-Sponge on just a touch of green and remove the paper to stamp on the Sanded image. I inked up the image and lightly stamped off before stamping the card.
-Ink distress the top and bottom edge with black.
-For the envelope which youÂ’ll see in full view on the blog I did the same procedure but omitted the use of the center and top papers and just let the color fade away. Without inking up the Sanded image I placed the envelope on the face up rubber and walked my fingers across so it would only be a partial image.

Amazingly beautiful and thanks for the tips on how to replicate! I'm not a fan of orange (marmalade, tangerine, etc!) but you've won me over with this card!
