The CAS challenge for week is Things that Fly and birds do that although he is resting at the moment!
I also love to see the moon against the blue sky and wanted to capture it on a card and hereÂ’s what I did to make this less than fifteen minute card.
-Use alcohol ink to create a cloudy sky just like you would if doing the polished stone technique but only using one color. No blending was done once the color is added and itÂ’ll get darker is you apply ink to the same area twice. Leave some area white.
-Stamp on the solid image and mask it off. I have a mask already cut and I store it for future use; itÂ’s only cut around the top of the bird and leaf area.
-Stamp on VersaMark or other resist ink as if you are doing the rock and roll technique and start on the mask and keep the image tilted as you roll towards the bird portion of the mask.
-Go over the image panel with an embossing buddy/powder bag. Pour on white embossing powder and use a stiff ¼” paint brush to pounce on the inside edge so the line will look jagged and heat.
-I did a blunder on my dry embossing which is the reason for this card style. To fix my blunder I just cut the bottom off did a tent topper with the panel and change my idea to using a different folder and emboss the entire image.
-To cover an unwanted line from the folder on this heavier cardstock I just added a couple score lines with the Scor-Pal.
-Card base is 3 5/8" in height. The oval makes the card 5 1/2" in height.
What an absolutely beautiful blunder! Love how you used the alcohol inks and made the moon backdrop. Gorgeous card!
