Do you know what a quincenera is? We didn't, but we do now, LOL. It is a 15-year-old BD party for a latina (wording from the invitation); it's like a Sweet 16 or Bat-Mitzvah - a coming of age kinda thing.
So, my DS was invited to one, and it's a pretty big deal - black tie. His chosen gift is, safely, an iTunes card. Given the glamorous ambiance of the evening, I wanted him to have something nice to give, so this is a gift card holder.
The card is 5x7; then I added a gate fold card to actually insert the gift card into.
The base card is PTI true black.
The DPs are all Paper Studio (HL); I used black-on-black, white and pink zebra flocked paper. The glitter paper is theirs as well.
The flower is SU's fancy flower punch.
The toggle switch is Tim Holtz's, with some Sharpie on it to make it match.
The ribbon and piping (inside and out), probably HL as well.
The letters are cut from the same glitter paper as on the gatefold card out of a Quickutz alpha.
The "crystals" entwined in the initials are Magnolia; I added some diamond glaze (Judikins) for extra sparkle.
Where the g.c. is actually inserted is embossed with C'bug happy bd folder and embellished with Stickles' black diamond. I used a 1 1/2" EK success scalloped circle for the thumb-hole.
The initials match the front panels of the gatefold card; sure wish you could see all the sparkle on this card. Thanks for looking!
