Sorry, I don't have a link for the cat. It is not my original idea, but it is made of basic shapes--rectangles, triangles, and a rhombus. I took a class learning how to create this style. I drew the shapes on paper, then cut them out, gluing them on to a lightweight chipboard. Thin foam is applied on top, then Japanese washi paper is folded around each shape, clipping the paper as you would in sewing. The edges are secured with an adhesive, then applied to the CS. This is hard to describe, but Hanko Designs makes several paper quilting kits with most materials and instructions. The washi paper is sold separately. You might also find these in an art store. Any design that can be pared down into geometric shapes can be made like this. Time consuming, but fun!
