Hi! This card was made for today's Sketch Challenge.
I wanted to use this new set: Pears and Hollyhock on a semi-monochromatic card. I think the shades of brown don't look too bad together. Markie and Speedy the Cat didn't complain, and that is saying a lot! LOL
This set was made in tribute to my Great Grandma Flohr and her wonderfully Punny son, my great Uncle John. (There is a great pun for an anniversary card in the set, and the pears were designed with my Great Grandma Flohr's Pear Preserves in mind.) And, Great Grandma used to have a dog named, "Brownie." He was a border collie that stayed with her until the day she died. He died that night. I think of her, then Brownie, often, while walking our dogs. So, this "BROWN" and PEAR card was inspired by their memory.
I stamped the pear in Adirondack's Espresso and used Memento markers to color in the flower. Next, I sponged in Distress Ink: Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade. The image was popped and adhered to the focal panel.
Final card size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Total time to complete: 32 minutes
