This is in memory of my Dad. He died 12 years ago today. Edward Lincoln was a very fine concert pianist who trained in London and Paris. We had a very unusual childhood with a father whose career was that of a pianist. Music filled our home all day, and I mean all day he practiced 10 hours a day. When he was young he went on tour for large parts of the year but in later years he taught at the University. While studying in France right after WW11 the paper used for music was a very poor quality and the acid content made it disintegrate and yellow quite badly. After his death my Mom was going to throw out the music that had fallen apart and I took it home to use for art projects. This card was made with his music.

The bold and bright colors of your card really caught my eye. As I read your description I realized how incredibly special this card is - to remember your father - and made even more so by incorporating the sheet music into the card.
Your card is so beautiful, and I love butterflies and music. I grew up with music as my Mother was our church organist for 50 years, plus playing in other churches. Have you studied piano? My Mother would not teach my brothers and sisters but she made sure we all had several years of piano lessons. My brother made his living playing and singing dinner music for many years. I sing in choral groups and a few piano lessons help reading music. I am bookmarking your card for inspiration!

Absolutely amazing card. The aged music sheet is beautiful and absolutely perfect for what you have created! My favorite thing to do while I'm crafting is listen to acoustic piano music. Its so beautiful and sends me off to a different place while I'm crafting! Is there any way you can send me a website where I can find his music so I can have a listen?

What a wonderful story and tribute to your dad! I'm so glad you didn't let her throw out the sheet music. It certainly is beautiful. Music is truly a gift isn't it? My older son has moved away from home, and I miss hearing him practice. You did such a lovely job with today's challenge. Thanks for sharing.
