This is a card I made to send to a dear friend of my grandmother's, who was so faithful and visited her and brought her joy with those visits each week for the years my grandmother lived in a special care home with a brain injury due to a fall. I'll never be able to thank this dear, sweet lady enough for her loyal friendship!
I pulled out a Magenta cling set I'd forgotten I had, and colored the floral images with Copic atyou spica markers, then I realized that I could get them to blend a bit, and that was fun. Next time I'd work faster, I didn't figure out the blending until I was working on the inside of the card (not shown), and it's best to work while the ink is still wet, I think. Unfortunately the colors didn't come out too clearly in this photo, for the middle floral image actually has the opposite coloring to the outside two, and in this photo they all look very similar.
I used one of my favorite cuttlebug EF's, the branches, then highlighted it with a sakura gold glitter pen. I tried a few ribbons before settling on this tangerine one I found in the bargain bin at Michael's--I'd love to find more of it! By the way, this was my first try with the bow-easy--wow, it really is terribly easy to make a great bow with one of these tools. To be honest, if I can do it this easily, then everyone will find using it a breeze! This double bow was really fun to make.
As always, your comments mean so much to me, and I appreciate learning from them, and I also gain so much insight from seeing the wonderful cards uploaded on this terrific site!

I must say the bow really made the card pop! You're right, the three flowers did look the same until you gave it a closer look (thanks for telling us) and I could see it was colored different. The glitter pen just added the finishing touch. This card is beautiful...for a beautiful person.

I think this is a great layout but your wonderful bow is what really catches my eye. Might have to consider a bow easy myself as my bows are pretty much a knot with a couple of loops hanging limply... Have a great day...

I love the lighter background on this one. Funny how changing just a small thing as the background colour can change the whole look of the same card. This is the perfect thank you card for your Grand's friend.
