This is for FS171 and our featured artist is my dear Rubbernecker team mate Cathleen aka ctorina. Congratulations, Cathleen! I was thrilled to see you being honored today.
I have admired Cathleen's lovely and elegant stamping style for a long time. I marvel at some of the creations in her gallery as they are so intricate and gorgeous. Needless to say....this is a style that takes me way out of my comfort zone but that is what our challenges are all about and I decided to go for it ...and a challenge it was for me. I spent quite a long time browsing through Cathleen's gallery and found a couple that especially inspired my project. I loved the dotted swiss butterflies on this project SC269 White Butterflies by ctorina at Splitcoaststampers
and the flower and tag on this project IC223 Sweet Baby by ctorina at Splitcoaststampers. I do not have any of the wonderful prima flowers in my collection that Cathleen used so I decided to try my hand at making a flower with my scalloped circle dies. Some one gave me a package of pearls a while back so I dug them out to try and add a little bling to my project. I used a color combination similar to Cathleen's baby card. The flower and card layer is made ouf ot SU Saffron designer paper. The base of the card, tag and butterlies are cream cardstock. This was a long hard project for me and took lots longer for me than painting a couple of scenes. It was worth the effort to try something new and different although the outcome is no where near as lovely and elegant as what we see in Cathleen's gallery.

Kittie, your card is a beauty! For not feeling so comfortable with this style you certainly did it as though it is a natural! Love the way you used inspiration from more than one card to replicate her style! Beautifully done.
