Here's my bat cage and scented flowers for the TPT challengethis week . Oops, was it meant to be a cave?
I like bats, I used to sit up in the top of a tree in the garden watching them swoop around, and if we had the youth club walking in the woods at night there were always plenty around, but I have nothing bat related in my supplies. Still, Cindy's instructions were to bring something scented so that Aunt BeBatrice won't be overwhelmed by the smell in the bat cave.
The strongest smelling flower I can think of is Stargazer lilies, so I converted Flourishes Tigerlilies into a bunch of Stargazers.
5 3/4" base, covered with pink Bazzill and then green. The green is stitched round the edge with some fancy metallic Gutermann thread. My *cage* is a photo of my home-grown Stargazers last summer, cut with Labels 8, then cut into strips, each one with the edges sponged in pink.
The image was stamped on watercolour paper with Versafine, coloured with Distress Inks, cut with Blossoms 1 and layered onto a circle. Now I remember I meant to add pearls on the circle...
HA sentiment stamped with Worn Lipstick on watercolour paper and cut with oval punch. The ribbon tied round one of the strips isn't the best but it's the best I had, and following on from the WT last week I used a pin - and some lovely Swarowski elements Dawn sent me . I added some Sizzix ornamental flourishes, sponged and with Sakura stardust dots added all along them. It was just about to pour rain, so it's hard to show the sparkle from the metallic thread.

Sabrina good job! I knew our plan would work. Your enticing wonderful flowers are just the right thing to draw Bertie in. Then when she is smelling those extra potent starbright lilies (hey, I don't know my flowers like you do!), you push her in and I will lock it up! Do you think your cage will would hold her? She's drivin' me nuts! If she tries to fling her bat hats outa this little number they will hit the floor before she can do much damage! Can't wait to see her in a cage sniffing the flowers! Okay, I will go see where she is...maybe a cookie will get her this way.....

Hey.....wait one toothpickin' minute.....I jes read me Gertie's comment about lockin' ME up in this cage. Don't you listen to her, Miss Sabrina. She's been tryin' to git SnoSnot's ice cream all day long and is goin' thru all kinds of shenanigans to git her way. Why, you wouldn't want to lock up yer ol' friend, Bertie, wouldja? Especially not whens I's gots a bat hat fer ya to wear......come on over here and pick out which one ya want.
