Wouldn't you be shocked if I didn't make a card with a RED rose?????????
I put a picture that inspired me beside the card I made this morning so you could compare. It's a little tough to get a good image of black on black, so if you have to use a little of your own imagination, please go right ahead! I made the rose out of RED paper with my own two hands!
Thanks, Stef! I loved this site and the hats. When I was a kid, Mom and my Gram and I used to go to the big dept. store and try on hats......then we got to laughing so hard we would have to go to the ladies' room. I still chuckle, just thinking about it!!
Happy Easter everyone!! Hugs to you all!

Very dramatic card, Anne. Your story about your mom and Gram reminded me of a story of my own. My late husband and I were in a store once and wandered through the millinery dept. A woman was trying on hats. When she put this one hat on, my husband turned to me and said, "She better not go out in the woods with that thing on!" (Lots of pheasant feathers!)

O-M-Gosh! Anne, did you ever nail this one! Your RED rose is just fabulous, you did an excellent job on it. Your story brought back memories of going to the 'big' department stores w/ my mom and gram. Those were the days! Malls just aren't as much fun.... or memorable.

What a beautiful elegant card! With a red rose on it. Its red, the rose is red. Did everyone see that the rose is red? I love the red rose, its very red. A black card with a red rose on it is very striking...probably because the rose is red. And against a black background the rose looks more red than the red it really is because of the contrast. So its nice you put a red rose on this card!

You made that beautiful red rose with your own hands....WOW, girl...it's gorgeous!!!! Love your dramatic design with the black background...soooo Annish!!! Love your hat memory, too...sounds like fun!!! I remember wearing a pill box hat back in the 60's. I saw a picture of me in it the other day and I looked like a mushroom!!!!
