Oh, I KNOW it's not Christmas card time (yet!), but I was asked by someone to design some Christmas cards with a view to being a regular designer for them, so I made a couple of cards with this beautiful set by Our Daily Bread Designs as samples for them.
It's a very simple one-layer card (my favourite kind) which is why I'm putting it in the Clean & Simple Challenge 56 of: It's Hip to be Square. See this link for the deets: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
The image has been coloured with Gamsol and Prismacolor pencils. It was really quick to colour because there is shading in the design so all the guesswork is taken out of it. I added Kindyglitz red to the darker areas of the flower petals and Kindyglitz green to the darker areas of the leaves around the flower. I lightly chalked around the image with blue chalk.
The ribbon is much brighter and very sparkly IRL, but photographed dark for some reason. Tried to lighten it with my photo editing software but then the image looked all washed-out.
I added a scoring line underneath the ribbon and above the sentiment with my MS Scoring board and added red pearls at each end of the sentiment. I sprayed the whole card with Gold Glimmer Mist - alas, the sparkle wasn't captured by the camera - but it looks so pretty IRL. Think I'll be using this stuff alot on my Christmas cards this year!
Thanks for having a peek at my card!
