I was writing one of my cards for my BF the other day & was going nutty over the bumps from the embellishments, so thought I'd try NO layers to see if I could come up with something NEARLY as good as a layered card, and these are the results. The reason being - I plan on sending these on to be forwarded to the troops so they have something to send home.
Using a variety of negatives from having punched mats, I sponged on the inside of the shape to create a faux mat as I did a couple of weeks ago. I then stamped various images from different sets/sentiments. I'm not that thrilled w/the Rose one - I should have spaced out the 'flowers' a little differently, but didn't want it to go to waste.
Butterfly trails were drawn in with clear gelly roll pen for a little bit of sparkle without having to add glitter, which is a big NO NO for cards sent to Operation Write Home.
I like the way they turned out overall - lots of room to write with no bumps for the troops to send cards home.
Thanks for looking
