The past couple of weeks have been special for Mutnik. She was honored as the first selected Queen for the Day - recognizing SCS members who consistently participate in challenges and also support other SCSers by commenting on cards as well as in other ways. She was also the Featured Stamper yesterday.
When I checked her gallery, this card really caught my eye, and it is the one I selected to case for QFTD01: WT260 - ...Mutnik's word scramble... by Mutnik at Splitcoaststampers
(I should add that most of her cards feature a lot of her original art as well as her amazing sense of humor. I cannot possibly duplicate most of her cards!)
I cased her idea and general layout, but everything else is different.
It also fits the Way to Use it challenge - playing, and today's technique challenge - when I was ten, getting a new bike was a big event - then I could hardly master riding it on gravel roads near our farm LOL!
This card is for our college Freshman grandson - a difficult age for card making. After arriving at college, he joined the cycling cross country team (I did not even know there was such a thing.) At Durango CO cross country is pretty much mountain trails!
I used mutnik's Word Jumble idea, selecting words having to do with his sport, ending with Happy Birthday. Since he is a smart college student I did not include the solution.
I watered down some Walnut stain for the newsprint and the puzzle - which an on-line site created for me. I used tiny hand printing to put his name and the college name on the sleeves - Riley is sporting college colors of blue and gold.
Sorry for the very long explanation.
