Saturday Spotlight: So Slick
Recipe:
The minty green background was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and then I faux stitched with a cranberry marker around the perimeter. The sprinkle layer was made by stamping a small bunch of sprinkle over and over again. I used embossing markers and clear embossing powder in colors that coordinated with the striped patterned paper. The ice cream cone was made by stamping the cone directly onto the white paper. Then I stamped 2 scoops of ice cream onto the mint paper with versamark watermark ink and then I stamped chocolate chips all over the scoops before they could dry. Then I covered both scoops with clear embossing powder for a shiny slick look and cut them out. Lastly, I adhered them to the white cardstock for some subtle dimension. I attached a cherry on top with pop dots. The borders on the white paper were made with the MS doily lace punch.
All of the layers were attached to the mint green layer, then I attached a cranberry ribbon over the bottom edge of the layers, and attached the whole thing to a white card base.
Finally, I stamped several cherries on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut them out. Then I attached them over the ribbon where there were buttons in the original sketch. Every other one is popped up for a fun whimsical feeling.
In hindsight... I wish I had added a minty scent to the embossing powder for the ice cream. This card just screams, "EAT ME!"
Hope my cousin enjoys their Birthday Card!
