I have had a crazy busy week completing a big project I had on my plate and it felt so good to get it completed. Just have to get it to the printing company tomorrow! Celebrated by heading into my "Rubber Room" to create a card for the confirmation student we mentor at church. I combined her baptismal birthday and St. Patrick's Day into one card.
I loved the IC website this week had such a hard time picking something as my inspiration... I chose these wonderful woolly sheep as my kick-off point for this card. I immediately thought of these joyful little sheep that I've had in my stash for almost 10 years now. (Yes, I hoard things.) I just love them - they make me smile every time I look at them. They were stamped and embossed using a stamp I borrowed from my girlfriend who got me started in stamping way back then. (Still remember watching embossing powder shine up for the first time over at her place!) We've both long since moved and I so wish I could find this stamp somewhere... The song that pops into my head whenever I see him leaping for joy is the Sunday School song - "Silver & Gold" where the blind man goes "walking and leaping and praising God" after he is healed.
Anyway, I'm sure that the little knitted sheep in the inspiration piece leap and jump the same way once the cameras are turned off.
I'm also going to say this qualifies for the StampinB challenge this week - to make a spring or Easter card. This pretty much depicts how I feel when spring arrives after a long winter!
Stamped on kraft paper with my Fresh Cuts leaves to make the grass. Sponged around a scalloped circle for the clouds and used a leftover piece from a punched circle to sponge the sun. (Somehow the sun seems much more intense in the photo.) Quick, easy and fun! About as CAS as I get - no bling, no cuttlebug folders, no punches (I did punch a border on the inside panel Pam) and minimal layers.
Sentiment on the inside is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Oh, so adorable!! I think your card captures your inspiration perfectly. I love how you made your "grass" with those little shamrocks Your sheep image looks super, especially popped up. Plus, your sponging is fantastic. Great work on this

What is this Heather? No punching on the outside of the card, no ef, 1 layer . . . Are you and I doing a VIP Punchkateer challenge doing CAS and not letting Prez Benz know about it. OOOOh, she'll be SO MAD. Hey, you better grab hold of one of them there sheep for our Prez and she LOVES sheep. I've been looking and looking and trying to collect some for her so that by the time her b/day gets here in June I can send her some. She would love sheep as they are so hard to find out there. She's such high maintenance, isn't she? Well, Heather, I think this is the cutest card EVER. LOVE that sheep just jumping for joy! And, you did an awesome job with the scenery. I'm still working at getting better at that. This is ADORABLE Heather. I certainly hope you didn't go overboard jumping for joy at your age - you know, you could break something!! LOL!!! I LOVE your card and I love the thought of laughing at your jumping up for joy!!! Don't send me your hospital bills. I believe Prez Benz is supposed to handle on-the-job injury bills!! LOL! She gets to have all the fun, doesn't she? Hugs Heather xxoo TFS!!

OMG, Heather, this is the cutest sheep evah! It looks like he is jumping in a field of clover. Super dooper job here. Of course, I see Pambina jumped in and said something about me paying injury bills.....the things she dreams up.LOL I am so glad you put your awesome card in the StampinB challenge this week. It is certainly a Spring delight. Loved your story about learning to emboss and all the other wonderful items you gave us to smile about. Now, Pam said she is looking for sheep items for my birthday.....this is the one I want her to find. Please tell her, o.k.? Love, love, love this little sheep and your precious card.

What a joyous happy card!!! I love your fun lamb - and your wonderful sentiment!! What a glorious scene that you have created!! I love it!! And then there is punch designer position that you have - I'm just certain that the lamb was punched out with a Canadian punch that the Benz and Pamilina are unaware b/c they live in the US........ too bad they don't have access to the huge variety of punches that we have here in Canada. Oh sooooooooooo sad!!!!
