Today I needed a card to take along with a meal I was delivering to a friend who had wrist surgery last week. I used the current Limelight Papercrafts challenge--to use the current Limelight sketch and to incorporate your favorite paint: http://limelightpapercrafts.blogspot...-42-paint.html
I've never done any watercoloring on my cards before but I've always wanted to try, so this challenge gave me the nudge I needed. I pulled out a set of my daughter's watercolor paints and painted my bird image stamped in Palette burnt umber. I loved how it turned out!! I know my technique needs lots of improvement, but I can't wait to try again sometime!! (There weren't any brown paints in her watercolor set, so I used Close to Cocoa Stampin' Pastels to color in the branch my bird is standing on.)
My friend who had wrist surgery was trained as an opera singer and has been a musician all her life. I thought this image, sentiment, and background (music pulled from a vintage hymnal I found at a used book store) would be perfect for her.
Thanks for looking!
Emily

Emily, I was on the gallery and this came up and I just love it! I love birds so it caught my eye immediately. You did a wonderful job with the watercolors. That is just about all I ever use and really enjoy it. Your opera friend will surely be delighted with this beautiful card. Oh, that wrist surgery... I had to wear an external fixator on my for a while after I broke it and that was the least fun I've ever had. Love your card!!

You are far too hard on yourself - this watercoloring looks great, first try at it or hundredth. I hope your friend's wrist surgery went well. it is nice of you to think of her. I am sure she will love the card and appreciate all the thought you put into it especially for her.
