Today's card is for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC56 to use scallops.
For this card, I tried out my new Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set to make the *scalloped shell* frame for my stamped image. The middle background panel is an actual page from an old book I bought at a used book store today. I thought that vintage text would make cool backgrounds for some of my cards.
I also tried out Mandy's Tutorial for Ribbon & Button Loop Flowers on the Limelight Papercrafts blog: http://limelightpapercrafts.blogspot...-tutorial.html
My flower is OK, I guess, for a first try. I learned a lot from doing this and would make some improvements next time. Wider ribbon and a bigger button would help!
The sketch is an older Taylored Expressions sketch, TECC63. I added the ribbon going up the left panel, folded to go across the top, and folded again to go down the right panel. When putting together the card, it seemed like a good idea--a way to kind of unify the card and fill some awkward empty space. But now that I see my thumbnail photo, it makes my card look like some weird caricature of a disproportionate humanoid (with a flower for a head). So maybe that wasn't the best of ideas.

Very, very cool and creative Emily. I really, really LOVE what you did with this card. WOW!! I'm a huge fan of vintage text and your image and framing are just awesome together with your ribbon treatment!! TFS!

Neat idea! I like the unexpected vintage text on the card, as well as the creative uses of the ribbon. And I LOVE that MS border; don't have it yet, but want it!
