For this VSN Olympic challenge, Kathy's theme was the Olympic Curling Team ... to use the marbling technique or polished stone technique in their honor.
This was my last piece of polished stone paper that I made last fall, so I knew exactly what to do. The polished stone effect was created by taking glossy c/s ... First, put shaving cream in shallow pan/dish, etc. - I used paper plate - then adding some drops of ink & swirling around w/a toothpick. Then put the paper, shiny side down & lift, then immediately wipe off. Voila - looks like marble.
Ok .. My base is kraft. BG layer is the polished stone paper matted on garden green. with a strip of chocolate that was punched on both sides w/the new rickrack/heart SU border punch, then I tied twine around it twice.
Image panel is from Noble Deer stamped in chocolate. I sponged some saffron & garden green to bring out colors in the DP then matted on chocolate. The sentiment is a digi sentiment - I need to find which site to give proper credit, will edit later. I punched opposite corners w/the ticket corner punch & matted on garden green then put border of chocolate that was punched w/the same SU border punch & finished with 2 brushed gold brads. These 2 panels were popped up on dimensionals.
I then took a small piece of garden green & chocolate and using my bone folder, ran over the papers several times on both sides ... kind of like you're curling ribbon ... until the paper became quite pliable and wrinkly ... Then I punched the leaves out of them & popped them up on dimensionals.
Thanks for looking!
