When Julia gave fabric as the WT a couple of weeks ago, I fished out a bag with bits of old fur, old lace cuffs and trim, and doilies. And, being in the middle of a manic month, never used them.
So today I cut the lace flower out of the centre of one of the doilies. Short of stitching it on, I couldn't think of any way of attaching it to my base other than threading something through the centre, so I used a white paper rose. Both my papers are Canvas - the base one stamped with Antique Linen and wiped with chalk, edges sponged with Old Paper. The top one is Peeled Paint, embossed with clear EP and then sponged with Antique Linen. I edged it with Vintage Photo but then added a very thin layer of gold Stickles. HA sentiment cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Tag, sponged and tied on with cream organza ribbon and gold cord. I added three little paper leaves under the sentiment. Layered onto an A2 piece of brown Bazzill, with another very thin border of gold Stickles.
DH wants credit for the brown base layer. He says there is nothing wrong with this, the gold Stickles was all the extra it needed; I just don't think it's quite right either and does need something more, but what?.Lace isn't me, that's half the problem.

I think the card looks great just the way it is ... Kudo's to DH (if in fact it WAS his idea, lol) ... the dark background makes the rest pop perfectly. Lovely card.

I think that it is just gorgeous.... Doesn't need a thing, I like the antique look that you have achieved.
