Hi! This card was made for today's Color Combination Challenge: Suede, Plum and light Plum and Neutrals: Classic Flax and Deepest Mahogany. Participants were to add a "critter" to their cards. I used a Frog and a Dragonfly (brad).
Well, I reached for the lily this morning, and something...okay, someONE with four legs, decided he was going to sit on the stamp set! The only stamp that was not being sat upon was this frog/toad. I thought, "Heck, why not? Purple frogs are kinda cute, right?"
I went through my VAST array of designer papers and couldn't find a purple one that matched these colors. So, I MADE IT! I stamped the branch from Thoughts of Joy onto Classic Flax in Adirondack Espresso. Next, I used a Copic Marker to fill in the flowers. I decided to LIGHTLY sponge in Palette Lavender Sachet for the base.
The frog was stamped in Espresso and sponged in with Lavender Sachet. This was done lightly in the middle, and MUCH heavier on the edges. I stamped the top of the tree from Our Family Tree and the fern in Espresso. I added in a leaf sprig from Thoughts of Joy fo rthe ground. The area was sponged in with Cognac.
Finished size: 4 3/4" Square
Total Time to complete: 31 minutes.
