| I created this card for my DH who is always telling me to, "Have Fun...Or Else!" So when I saw this stamp, I knew I had to buy it and use it for his Valentine's Day Card.
These are the challenges that it applies to:
Inspirational Card Sketches: 53 I stretched it for an A2 card
Flourishes: What's Your cup of tea? A. Tazo! FLLCFEB10
Crazy 4 Challenges: Be My Valentine C4C23
Our Creative Corner: Masculine Valentine's OCCC
Scrapmaster's Paradise: Colors Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, and Bermuda Bay SPCC34
My Time to Craft: Hearts and Kisses Challenge 78
Penny's Challenges: Valentine/Love PC22
Stampin for the Weekend: Valentine's Themed
And now for the process...
I created the background using 2 types of patterned paper and a solid turquois panel layered slightly on top of one another to give it more of a clean feel. The lighter purple panel reminded me of bird seed/ berries. The darker purple panel is actually a scrap of packaging from my acrylic stamps bleck that I saved from waaaay back when! It was just too pretty to throw away...I don't have a problem...really!
The main image is one stamp that I colored in with a stamp pad and embossing marker and then went over it with clear embossing powder. I had wanted to color the whole image with markers before I stamped it but the colors kept beading up, so I had to use the stamp pad first and then color over the hearts after that. These birds were stamped on a panel I made using Nestabilities to cut it out and emboss the edge. I layered it over the ribbon and then attached a bow on the side with super glue.
Till next time... |
