Hi! This card fits today's Limited Supply Challenge: Inspired by the Presidents. Participants were to link a card to a president, ie Log Cabin to President Lincoln.
This was a no brainer for me...I've ATTENDED the Easter Egg Roll at the White House as a child, so it came immediately to mind! President Andrew Johnson's family started this tradition. It is often attributed to President Hayes as well. Confusing, I know, but isn't that how most historical happenings tend to be? Today, the event is held on the White House South Lawn. Children who participate in the events, there are several in addition to the Egg Roll, receive a wooden egg signed by the president.
Today's card was made using our new Spring & Easter 2010 set. I LOVE pink Peeps, and Easter is the BEST time to find them! I found some at Publix today, brought them home and opened the boxes and put them on top of the fridge. I will wait a few days and THEN eat them when they are hard and crunchy! YUM!
So, yes...I was inspired by PEEPS for this card and the Easter Egg Roll! I stamped the image in Adirondack Pitch Black and used Copics to color it. The grass is the small fern stamp from Our Family Tree.

And, wasn't his wife's name called "Lady Bird?" Great story and love how you made this a "President's Day" card with the challenge - Beautiful design!!
