I am so glad that we are going to Provence for the Tea Party this week. I am looking forward to sunrise at the summit of Mont Ventoux, sun-warmed figs, wild blueberry tarts and lakes warm enough to swim in. No offence to Mutnik, but who'd swim in a pool if a warm lake is an option. Believe me, Irish lakes are NOT warm...
And those lovely Syrah wines, too , and fields of lavender and sunflowers.
I chose to feature the iris from the teapot on my card. While I am still on my quest for the iris stamp of my dreams, this one from Flourishes is part of the Calendar set and will keep me going. (You can see the iris needlwork that I am bringing to decorate the villa on my BLOG.
Stamped the image on watercolour paper with Versafine black, and coloured with H2Os. Added snaps at the top, then distressed the side edges and tore the bottom. Layered up on green Bazzill and purple Bazzill Bling, again distressed at the side and torn at the bottom. Matted onto some matt gold card stamped and embossed with En Francais in gold. Layered onto a black A2 card and edged with a leafing pen - not too successfully. The numbness from the dentist is just wearing out of my jaw, but evidently my fingers are still suffering, LOL.

Oh Sabrina, what a beautiful sketch for you lovely iris flowers. Oooh, we can swim too. I know Chanille will love a good dip, even if she is bathing right now.
Love your gold and script background and the torn edges gives it a more natural look too. Love it. TFS

Sabrina, this is very pretty and such yummy irises. I checked your needlework on your blog. Awesome!!! Before creating cards came into my life, I did needlepoint. Haven't touched it since, unfortunately. I really have to tell you that you gave me a good out-loud laugh with the comment you gave jovialjudi on her
card today (you know, Pierre and the bull). That hit me just right and I had the best laugh. Thanks. Love your card!!!

This is just beautiful, the gold sets off the flower so well. Looks like the villa (I keep calling it a chateau, wonder what the difference is?) is going to be chock-full of flowers.

Oh this is gorgeous - love the irises and the gold - so beautifully done! Thank you for setting me straight that Bodacious is a bull - I totally missed that fact! I edited my description of my card so it makes more sense now! Thanks again!
